What a wonderful meeting we had yesterday! The Open International IFA Region 17 Zoom call was a great success. Thank you to everyone who joined and made the event possible with your enthusiasm and participation—especially our friends from the USA and Canada.
The meeting, organized by Wendy Bailye and her regional team, brought together regional coordinators and members of the International Feltmakers Association for a collaborative international discussion.
A special highlight was guest speaker Jorie Johnson, a master feltmaker, who shared her research on historical felts and techniques. She presented rare examples from the Silk Road and spoke about how these traditions influence her contemporary work. Originally from Boston and now living in Kyoto, much of Jorie’s research focuses on Korean and Chinese textiles found in Japan.
