Participants will explore the variables in the wet felting process of coercing wool fibers through fabrics of various structures, fiber types, densities and surface design to develop unique surface texture and design modifications.

Additionally, shapes cut from sheets of felt that have been partially felted to different levels of integrity will be used to create pattern fields as well ast o create a contrasting texture resist.

Free-motion embroidery will then be implemented to define shape edges, accent textures and emboss thick felt.

For this course it is necessary to bring a sewing machine that has feed dogs that drop and a free motion embroidery foot or a darning foot
