Title
A Quiet Light

‘A Quiet Light’ reconnects with my interest in human traces and well-walked paths, while taking a more abstracted approach to my subject matter than before. It is inspired by a lockdown reconnection with my love of walking and running in the local landscape, and is specifically a recollection of time spent on cold, bright mornings along the Cromford Canal near my home. The quiet light brings the promise of warmer days to come on a cold but bright winter’s morning. 

Materials and Techniques. 
Wet felted merino wool, with nuno-felted silk inclusions, hand-dyed silk tops, sari silk waste, mohair tops, viscose tops, Harris tweed threads, curly locks, spun silk threads, and hand-dyed silk carrier rods. Mounted on a wooden stretcher frame.
