Title: Symbiose (Symbiosis)

Materials and Techniques: Hand dyed merino wool and silk, copper embroidery thread; nunofelt and woolfelt

Inspiration: Initially my inspiration was colourful lichen rosettes on stones and wood. As the work proceeded, it gradually became a more playful, free association. Each “circle” is felted individually with textures machine sewn in the prefelt stage. The fulled circles were joined and connected to the dark backing felt by hand.

Title: Basunkorall (Trumpet coral)

Materials and Techniques: Wet felted merino wool

Inspiration: My work is a free and playful fantasy creation inspired by polyp corals. The “trumpets” were made separately on resists and connected to the coral body by hand stitching. After securing the connections, the sculpture was fulled and shaped. Finally, 5 of the trumpets were given a green edge.
