Title: Tea Time

Materials and Techniques: Needle Felted Wool, ceramic tea cup

Inspiration:  I created this piece for a challenge group which had the monthly theme of "books." Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is centred about the famous tea party scene, for which the March Hare is notoriously late, and thus ever checking his pocket watch. I thought it was fitting to use the teapot as a container for the sculptural story.

Title:  Becoming (the Liminal Butterfly)

Materials and Techniques:  Needle Felted, with real branch; framed.

Inspiration: This piece was created for a monthly challenge group with the theme of "Fragile." I've always loved the process of a caterpillar transforming in to a butterfly, and this stage of the Monarch chrysalis has always been special to me. The only thing difference between this moment and the moment the butterfly emerges is Time.
