Title:Woven Whispers

Materials and Techniques: Merino wool, wool nepps, mohair yarn, woven silk, paper and hand cut slit paper 

Inspiration: My ‘Connections’ entry honors friendship through collaboration with friend/weaver, Gretchen Huggett. Gretchen wove silk and paper embedded with words from a late friend, using the Japanese Shifu technique. I incorporated her weaving into two felted vessels—forms that hold memories, much like the unseen yet enduring message contained within the fibers.
