Artwork One

Title: Roots

Materials and Techniques: merino, Corriedale, silk gauze

Inspiration: I saw a photo of a person's hands, and the fingers were splayed and resembled tree roots. Thinking about our "time" theme, I thought about how much time it takes for trees to grow, how beautiful are the rings inside a tree trunk, and how the roots often continue to grow after the tree has stopped growing.

Artwork Two

Title:  Collage that took too much Time

Materials and Techniques:  cyanotype on silk, cyanotype on paper, merino

Inspiration: I learned how to use cyanotype on paper and silk in 2025, and in 2026, I wanted to make a collage of the pieces I had made. Arranging the pieces took a lot of time. Making the cyanotype pieces only took 35 minutes each, on average. It was an anxious 35 minutes of my time. It was worth it.
