The Climate Is Changing
The Climate Is Changing!

The Climate is Changing! is a new touring exhibition of felt textile art organised by the International Feltmakers Association, Filz-Netzwerk e.V (Germany) and Coordinamento Tessitori (Italy). The exhibiton opened at the Museum in Prato, Italy in May 2010 and is currently touring Germany until February 2011. It then travels to the UK where it will tour between March 2011 and April 2012. For details visit the venue list.

The exhibition theme, climate change, explores the impact of human actions on the environment; one of the most pressing issues facing the world today. Climate change has implications not only for the delicate ecological balance of the planet, but also for human society and the actions we take now in our daily lives will affect both our and our children’s future. The work in the exhibition reflects how the individual artists views these themes; inspired perhaps by the effects of climate change in their local environment or internationally.

The organisers received a total of 172 entries from feltmakers in 20 countries and an independent  jury (Beathe Bossert, Daniela Degli Innocenti, Lydia Predominato, Annie Sherburne and Beatrijs Sterk) selected 50 artists from 12 countries.

You may see a preview of selected exhibits, taken at the opening venue in Prato, Italy. The exhibition is accompanied by a full colour catalogue with text in Italian, German and English which is available through the IFA online shop.
