I'm a plant dyer in Hitchin, Herts working with fibre and fabric. I adore colour and get a thrill from making my own colour from plants we have grown from seed. I prefer to use natural materials, pre-used and re-purposed where possible. I have a ridiculous stash of plant dyed fleece and occasionally focus on a project to turn some of it into art work or something functional. My most ambitious projects resulted from studying city and guilds with Barbara Weeks from 2012-15. I maintain a dye garden with my husband, teach plant dyeing and sell dyeplants and seeds on a small scale. Using my hands to craft things helps keep me grounded in difficult times. For me, making is always more about the process than the end result.
