Business name: In The Line of Fibre
Megan has a passion for Felting. Living on a sheep farm in Australia for 10 years taught her to appreciate excellent quality fibre. A studio was built and being surrounded by wool, mohair and alpaca, Megan felted hats and shawls, wove, spun and knit. She moved back to Canada in 2008, shipping all her wool and fibres. In 2009, needlefelting started to become more popular as a creative medium. Combining her love of portraiture with wool, alpaca and other fibres, Megan strives to create realistic animal and people portraits using this amazing technique. Teaching in 2018 at many of the fibre festivals in Ontario was a great experience and made her realize that she wanted to pass on this wonderful technique and other forms of felting on an ongoing basis. Her students enjoy their workshops and leave with the ability to continue on their own journey with the knowledge of transferring the image, blending colors and work with different fibres to create a unique work of art.
