Business name: The Felt Studio
I am a full-time, Australian-based, contemporary felt artisan, textile designer, and tutor. I have been felt making for 30 years and run a vibrant and creative textile art studio from my purpose-built home studio in the Samford Valley in Brisbane, Queensland. I teach online workshops and also in person within organisations and businesses as well as working on commissions and refining my personal felt making practice. I love the experimental and playful properties of felt and its wide-ranging practical and aesthetic applications. My main love is experimental surface texture and design incorporating different fabrics and fibres to make an interesting whole.
I produce original, handfelted textile artworks - homewares, wall art, and wearables. My works are sold in galleries in Australia. I also work regularly on exhibition work. I am an active textile practitioner –always studying and honing my craft. I love to learn from others and also enjoy opportunities to mentor others in the textiles field. I have facilitated workshops with professional International Felt Tutors from my Studio, The Felt Studio as well as teaching my own personal classes. I like to think of my feltmaking work as an adventure and always try to experiment and play extensively within my chosen medium. I love my work!
