I studied fine art at Portsmouth before undertaking a post-graduate textile ma goldsmiths college London in 1988.
I became enchanced with felt making as it was the polar opposite to the metals I've been working with as a sculptor up until then, and I've never looked back really.
I work to exhibition and for commissions out of my studio in Ledbury Herefordshire at the moment and have recently taken part in open studios here ... I really enjoy trying to recreate/ draw natural and domestic imagery out of fleeces as it's pretty challenging at times, also hand rolling wet felting appeals much more to me as I love the alchemy of it all..... Usually I embellish with machine embroidery in order to create a three-dimensional effect within the wall hangings or framed works.
I worked for 15 years at brewery arts in Cirencester where I had a studio and shop.I've undertaken commissions for various public and private collections ...eg several for London transport, kettle yard Cambridge as well as private clients such as Grayson Perry.
