My work is deeply rooted in the rugged, shifting beauty of the natural world. Living and working in Cumbria, my creative process always begins outdoors, using my sketchbook to capture the textures, colors, and quiet moments of the landscape that surrounds me.
My artistic journey has been shaped by both intuition and formal discipline. Initially a self-taught artist, I followed my passion to Falmouth University, where I gained my MA in Illustration. This blend of instinctive making and trained illustrative narrative allows me to tell the unique stories of the environments I observe.
Sustainability and a deep respect for the environment are at the very heart of my practice. The textile elements of my work are crafted using wool, sourced locally from neighbouring Yorkshire. By working with these native materials, I ensure that my art is not just a reflection of the British landscape, but physically woven from it.
