I have a love of exploring textiles since childhood. I graduated as a tailor and pattern maker in Denmark where I grew up, with a special interest in the moving body and period costumes. That brought me to studying and working by a classical tailor in Milan and Teatro alla Scala as a tailor…
a jump in time I moved back to Denmark for some years and came back to Italy to settle down by the Lake Garda where I live with husband and family and a studio at home, working freelance with custom orders and teaching. In 2006 I discovered nuno-felting. That was the beginning of a new adventure. I was completely mesmerized by the infinity of possibilities in creating various textures, blending colors, mixing materials… So a part of my journey has been to create a fusion between my passion for pattern making and the versatility of the felt, expanding the horizons.
Apart from garments I also create installations, lamps and wall hangings. Sometimes implementing a light source.Instagram: lisbeth.wahl.fiberart
