At the ripe old age of 53 I finally found the craft for me! I took up felting in 2016 after picking up a wet felting picture kit at a local craft fair. Starting with wet felting I soon discovered the joys of needlefelt and although I have tried 3d wet felting and nuno, needle felt is still my favourite go-to past time as I can pick it up and put it away to finish another time. In 2023 I took early retirement in order to be able to take care of my daughter who has MS and this also frees up more time for needle felting! I take my creations to local craft fairs, markets and shows and also have permanent space in a shop nearby. I make faux taxidermy animal heads which have proved popular as well as all kinds of animals. I am often given commissions to make felted versions of people’s pets or favourite creatures. I love the freedom of making in all kinds of styles according to my mood.
