A passion for colour, fibre and texture has been a passion of my life as long as I can remember. Creating one of a kind pieces of clothes through middle school prepared me for the fashion arts program at Vancouver Community College. Moving to the West Kootenays, I started experimenting with screen printing after attending classes with Maiwa I now had the tools to create unique fabric to be used to make and sell garments while living in Nelson B.C. After returning to Vancouver, the desire to manipulate fibre changed. While working in the garment industry for West Coast Apparel, the need for original textured fabric became a passion. A journey into felting as a self taught fibre artist, then continuing with courses under Jessica De Hass and Fiona Duthie to combine silk and wool creating such a unique texture, adding colour by dyeing fibres, painting silk with endless possibilities. Combining silk and wool to create 3 dimensional items, whether it’s clothing, jewelry, vessels or a hanging for the wall, the imagination is the only restriction.
