Business name: Grew Textile
I'm a lifelong crafter who became intrigued by felting a few years ago. This grew into a love of the process, the dance between hands and fibres, the rhythm of the rolling and the gradual increase in energy from the gentle laying out of fibres to the heat and friction of the final fulling and moulding. I am also steeped in science education and this was my former career. Diving into research into fungi, I saw a connection between the entanglements of their growth and the process of wet felting. Thus I decided to take the plunge and launched Grew Textile. I make 3D structures inspired by fungi, soil, rocks and lichen.
