This year’s Felt Swap has been an incredible celebration of creativity, connection, and inspiration! The theme “Inspired by an Artist” encouraged members to translate the work of their favourite artists into felt – from bold colours to expressive textures and abstract forms. The results were truly remarkable.
We know you’ve been waiting to see the results, and we are delighted to share the stunning creations of our members with you in a video presentation:

From October onwards, we’ll be posting highlights on our Instagram https://www.instagram.com/internationalfeltmakers/ and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/internationalfeltmakers pages. Keep an eye out to spot your own work or that of your fellow feltmakers, and be inspired by the ocean of brilliant creations from IFA members worldwide.
Respecting Members’ Choices
Not all of our members wish to share their work publicly or on social media. We fully respect these decisions. That’s why some pieces appear without names, listed as anonymous. Each work included in the public video and on social media has been shared only with the maker’s permission, guided by their preferences.
By the Numbers
This year we believe we reached a record number of participants! Here’s a snapshot from project organiser Lise Poulsen (Region 18):
“The theme of this year’s Felt Swap, being ‘Inspired by an Artist’, was an exciting one. It provided our members a free hand to translate one of their favourite artist’s work into felt. I believe we had a record number of participants this year, and here are some numbers you might find interesting:
– 152 members signed up from around the world: 59 from the UK (including N. Ireland), 4 from Ireland, 20 from Europe, 55 from the Americas, and 14 from Australia & New Zealand.
– 73% of participants chose to swap worldwide.
– 132 members submitted photos of their creations, with inspiration ranging from world-famous names to lesser-known artists.
The quality and creativity of the work was wonderful, as you’ll see in the video presentation. Personally, this was such an enjoyable project: I was in contact with members around the world, all of whom were delightful to work with.”
Thank You
On behalf of the IFA Committee and all our members, we extend a heartfelt thank you to Lise Poulsen for her tireless work collecting applications, pairing partners, gathering results, and putting together the brilliant presentation. We would also like to thank everyone who took part in making this year’s swap such a success.
We hope you enjoy watching the video and celebrating the extraordinary creativity of our global felting community.Follow us and work of our members on
