Roses Lampshade – In Person Wet Felting Workshop
24 January @ 9:30 am - 5:30 pm
£110
Join me in my studio in Whitwick for an intimate, hands-on workshop where you’ll create a one-of-a-kind rose lampshade using traditional wet-felting techniques and 3D felt flowers.
This is a small-group session, designed to give you plenty of individual guidance and space to work at your own pace. We’ll explore how felt behaves as both fabric and surface, building layers, texture, and form so your roses feel alive and expressive.
What we’ll cover
– Designing your lampshade: proportion, colour harmony, and light
– Creating felted roses with depth, movement, and character
– Wet-felting a elegant felt fabric suitable for lampshades
– Shaping, assembling, and finishing your roses lampshade
What you’ll leave with
A finished rose lampshade
A deeper understanding of 3D felt flowers and fibre surface design
Confidence to adapt the technique for future lampshades or textile projects
Who this workshop is for
Feltmakers who want to move beyond flat surfaces
Makers curious about combining function + sculptural detail
Anyone who enjoys slow making in a calm, supportive studio setting
All materials, tools, and refreshments are provided.
Bring your packed lunch. Email me your choise of colours or inspiration (wall paper, picture of your room etc)
