In this workshop, participants will explore the sculptural potential of felt through the development of hollow forms.

You will learn how to build volume using a resist, gaining control over shape and structure from the inside out. Through an in-depth exploration of differential shrinkage and directional fulling, you will discover how density, fiber placement, and movement can dramatically influence form.

We will also experiment with gum arabic and steam curing techniques to refine, strengthen, and enhance the final surface and structural presence of your felt pieces.

By the end of the workshop, you will have expanded your technical skills and developed new ways of thinking about sculptural form in felt.
