Sculptural felting and garment making begin with pattern resists. How do you make a flat shape into three dimensional felt? How do you make a felted garment that’s seamless? Learn the answer to these questions and much more in this class. We’ll explore open, closed, layered, embedded and donut resists with a discussion on book resists and basic pattern making for all types of projects. Students will come away with five mini projects and the skills to use in further study. This in person class is offered during the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival, the largest and oldest fiber festival in the US.
