Enter our 3rd online Exhibition

For our third online exhibition, we would like submissions of 2D or 3D felt work from members of the IFA, on the theme, Flora and Fauna.
We will be launching the exhibition at the AGM on March 26th, 2022. You will find the application form link here and the details are listed below.
Inspiration
The exhibition is inspired by the International Community Art Project, Milles Fleurs. Sheila Smith, our current President, coordinated the making of the original Milles Fleurs carpet in the year, 2000. Two hundred and fifty felt flowers arrived from all corners of the world. Twenty-six experienced feltmakers from five different countries then made the 2 x 3 metre carpet. This was presented to Mary Burkett, founder of the IFA, as a token of the regard in which she was held by feltmakers worldwide.

Flora and Fauna
The aim of Flora And Fauna is to create digital carpets by tiling the square images. The exhibition will include both individual and group images.
There is no selection process for this exhibition, although the images must be the right size and of good quality, both image and felt. The intention is to be inclusive of all members, novice or experienced.
The theme, Flora and Fauna, can be interpreted in many ways; the felt work could be figurative or abstract, 2D or 3D or a detail of a larger piece. Inspiration may be found in many sources, possibly from your local folklore and symbols. The photographed image of the work must be square; 3500 by 3500 at 300dpi. It is important that the image is in focus, cropped and not showing any background.
To participate in the exhibition:
- You must be a member of the IFA.
- Work should be no older than 1 year at the time of submission.
- Work must be your own design and not made during a workshop.
- There is no cost to submit work or exhibit in the exhibition.
- Artwork will not be for sale.
By submitting images, you agree for the IFA to add them to their photo library for future publicity, website banners etc.
Please return the submission form and image by 1st March 2022 to our Exhibition Officer, Laura Mabbutt:
