Felt Connects | Let's Swap
The Felt Swap was launched six years ago by one of our International Officers and has since grown into a much-loved annual tradition. Today, it is organised by a dedicated team, with Felt Swap Coordinator Lise Poulsen working closely with the Chair, the Publicity Officer, the Communications Officer – and, of course, our members worldwide.

Felt Swap 2026 – Geometry
The theme for this year’s swap is “Geometry” — and we’re excited to see the results! Each participant will create a unique mini felt piece (maximum size 20 × 20 cm), inspired by geometric forms, patterns, or concepts. From bold shapes to subtle structures, these works promise a creative exploration of form and design through felt.
Apply by April 30, 2026 (midnight UK time).

Process & deadlines:
Mid-May: Receive your swap partner details by email.
May–June: Create your piece and take photos.
June 30 (midnight): Submit photos and mail your piece.
Early August: Online gallery published.

Felt Swap 2025 – Inspired by Artist
This year, 135 talented IFA members from around the world came together to create something truly special.
The theme for this year’s swap was “Inspired by an Artist” — and the results are stunning! Each participant created a unique mini felt piece (maximum size 20cm x 20cm), influenced by a favorite artist or artistic style. From bold abstracts to delicate realism, these felt creations reflect a beautiful blend of fiber art and fine art inspiration.
Felt Swap 2024 – Bracelet
Over 100 talented feltmakers from around the world came together, exchanging their unique, hand-crafted felt bracelets, each one a work of art. This video highlights the amazing variety and creativity of the pieces shared, showcasing the incredible skill and imagination of participants from all corners of the globe. From intricate designs to bold, colorful statements, the diversity of the felt bracelets will inspire and delight.
Felt Swap 2023 – Brooch
In year 2023, following the themes of Light, Weave, and Structure from previous years, the chosen motif was “BROOCH“. This year’s swap event saw the participation of over 100 IFA feltmakers from across the globe, exchanging their fantastically varied felt creations.
