I own a company called Art Daze in Lancashire running art and craft workshops in schools specialising in Felt Making. During the summer I worked with a small group of 11 year olds, helping them to achieve their Arts Award Explore certificate from Trinity College.
They learnt many different techniques in order to create a Felt Installation in our local park in Rishton including a cobweb style Teepee inspired by Janice Arnold and toadstools.
My happiest moment of the project came when one of them, using her bare feet to give a little friction to a large piece of felt, said:
I love making felt”.
The installation was held for a week in Cutwood Park, Rishton in July this year.
