DESCRIPTION:Hello I am Wendy Erskine from ‘Eden Textiles Studio’ based in Dumfries & Galloway. I have been passionate about wool and textiles for over twenty years. I weave\, spin and felt wool taken from our own mixed flock near Wigtown. I started teaching myself through research into many different styles and techniques. I then progressed with the help of Lena Archbold’s excellent teaching.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/EdenTextilesStudio \nI have thought about bringing like minded people together at some sort of gathering for quite a while now and decided this year to create the first ‘Eden Wool Gathering’ which this year will be held at Whithorn Roundhouse in Dumfries & Galloway. I wanted the chance to promote wool in our local farming community and show people how many wonderful things can be made from it\, and the many things it can be used for. \nI am now in my third year of remission from cancer so decided to hold this great event as a charity fund raiser for our local cancer drop in centre\, based in Stranraer\, which has helped me and many other people over the years.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/p/Stranraer-Cancer-Drop-In-Centre-100057349723588/\nhttp://scdic.org.uk/ \nWhat will you expect to see at the ‘Eden Wool Gathering’?
