SUMMARY:Wet Felted Pendant with Karen Lane
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop we will be creating a statement pendant\, inspired by the work of Aniko Boros\, using a combination of Superfine Merino and Merino prefelt. Karen will talk you through the different techniques we will be using\, showing several samples of different designs. Some will utilise resists and be better suited to experienced feltmakers while others will be suitable for any ability. All designs incorporate an adjustable cord and a “dangle” and\, for those who would like to\, can be further embellished using beads or stitch.\nWe have Merino prefelt in light grey and mustard if you would like to purchase some on the day\, otherwise bring your choice of prefelt colour with you. A quarter of a metre will be more than enough and you will need a small amount of Superfine fibre to use with it.\nTea and coffee provided but please bring a packed lunch as there isn’t a shop in the village.\nContact Pat or Karen if you need any more details.

DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to be having Susan Mulcock visit Region 8 in October for this one day wet felted picture workshop on the theme of Autumn Woodlands. We’ve had such a good a response that we are now offering a choice of two dates which are Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th October. If you want to really immerse yourself in this project you might even want book on both these dates! \nSusan works with natural fibres and fabrics\, layering them with her own hand-dyed merino fibre to create beautiful\, textural pictures.\nIn the morning we will have fun experimenting with various fibres\, fabrics and techniques and after lunch we will move on to making our own wet-felted landscape. The felting process is very straight-forward so is accessible to all levels of experience. \nSusan will bring a variety of materials for you to use including her own spun/dyed yarns and fibres. You will need your basic felting gear plus a photo to base your design on. SUMMARY:Wet Felted Bowl with Emma Jackson
DESCRIPTION:We met Emma at the Feltmakers Regional Meeting in February and fell in love with the beautiful wet felted bowl she was hand stitching on to. Felt makes the perfect base for hand embroidery\, whether you favour a simple running stitch or something more advanced\, and a bowl is a great project to do this with.\nThis workshop is suitable for all abilities so come along and spend a relaxing day creating a piece of work you can then embellish at your leisure.\nWe have a limited supply of fibres which you can purchase on the day\, otherwise bring your own\, including any embellishing fibres you fancy using such as silk\, viscose\, etc. Contact Pat for the requirements list.\n£30 tea\, coffee and biscuits provided.

Having been asked to include the option of Cats and Parrots\, who knows what else might be in the mix by mid May!
