Layers of the past
"Layers of the past" is inspired by local limestone textures found in nature during my many walks last year. For me it symbolises the movement of time - everything leaves a mark behind and will be set in history for almost forever. Sense of our lost values. It is the same with our lives - our experiences form us in every possible way and finally make us stronger. Everything we experienced during last year will become part of us eventually.

Wet felting, embroidery (prefelt, extra fine merino wool, silk, flax fibre, hand dyed silk fabric)

Appearing of the truth
Last year has questioned our values and our priorities in life and our normal ways of existing. It has taught us to look deep inside ourselves to find energy for going on. Times of difficulties can show us everybody`s true colours. It was the time when all the real values suddenly appeared. Real difficulties, real pain, real friends, real quality time.. Time to look into ourselves and put our values in order, take time and reconnect with everything important in our lives.

Happiness
Felting has been a huge part of my life for many years. Last year thought me again how important in life is to keep your inner balance and happiness by doing something you simply love. This work was born to symbolise all the happy moments spent together with my family and friends. And most importantly – happiness always creates more happiness.
