Get ready to unleash your creativity on May 7 – 9th 2026 . \nJoin us for an immersive experience where you’ll learn the art of making your own felted painting. – a magical journey into the world of fibres and textures! Don’t miss this opportunity to take some time out and explore your artistic side. See you there! \n3 x days wet felt making residential retreat course On this fully guided course you will discover how to make an ‘Enchanted Woodland’ large felted painting complete with hand embroidery and needle felted details\, flowers\, grass\, rocks\, maybe an animal… \nDates: Thursday 7th May\, arrival from 1pm – Saturday 9th May. \nThe course will be held at Bottoms Farm in Walsden near Todmorden in West Yorkshire at a retreat centre with a beautiful studio space. It’s for a maximum of seven people. It will be run by highly experienced fibre artist and tutor Josephine Gornall. \nThe price includes – all tuition\, materials\, use of equipment\, accommodation and most meals – listed below\, apart from Friday night when you’ll have a choice of local food options . \nSummary of the Course:\nYou will be able to make an ‘Enchanted Woodland’ scene\, (approx 40x40cm) in this fully guided wet felting course ideal for beginners and improvers. We will choose from a large selection of fabulous coloured wools and plant fibres. The Darkness and The Light – this vast\, larger than life theme has many intriguing twists and turns.\nArtists looking towards the literal\, abstract\, perceptive\, – embrace moods and thoughts from moonlight and blistering light of day\, a mired of creative interpretations. Sensual\, dramatic and harmonious art experiences. \nWell represented in this open exhibition are works addressing personal journeys of Dark and Light – some wildly expressive\, others thoughtful\, narrative and poetic\, as well as works alluding to our wider cultural heritage and understanding.

DESCRIPTION:A full day workshop with fibre and mixed media artist and tutor Josephine Gornall.   \nDiscover how to make a gorgeous little needle felted dog or cat of any breed or type using just a felting needle to felt natural wool fibres together. Discover how to put these all together\, do body shaping and make ears to bring your mini pet to life. How to blend colours\, make textures and features to create the unique character of your dog or cat. Complete by adding glass eyes and a nose. \nBring along a photo of your pet if you would like to make a little replica that needs no feeding or walking! Or create your own fantasy or cartoon style dog or cat. \nPrivate bespoke workshops are available for families and friends in my studio. From two people upwards. Please get in touch to discuss possibilities. \nWhat’s included in the price?\nAll materials and use of equipment supplied. Small class. Suitable for all including beginners.   \nTeas\, coffee and biscuits provided. Please bring a packed lunch.  \nThe workshop is held in my warm studio in the lovely Birchcliffe Centre a converted chapel in Hebden Bridge\, West Yorkshire. Free car park.\nHebden Bridge has a Railway station and buses stop right outside the centre.
