DESCRIPTION:Learn how to make a home made and affordable hat block that will give you the flexibility to create a whole variety of hat shapes. In this workshop you will learn how to make a soft\, lightweight and comfortable hat using your stash of silk or cotton fabric with merino wool. There is an introductory session before the workshop to explain how to make your hatblock\, prepare your resist and materials in advance. SUMMARY:Pleated Felt Scarves
DESCRIPTION:Based on Canadian smocking\, these techniques do not lend themselves to a real time workshop. Therefore\, I chose to offer a demonstration where I explained three different pleating techniques and how to apply them to make scarves. If you missed the ‘live’ demonstration\, you can still purchase the recording\, which explains how to prepare felt for the pleating\, how to create the pleats and finish with various dyeing methods.

DESCRIPTION:Makers in Focus exhibition showing contemporary designs by Sheila McDonald & Mandy Nash\nSheila and Mandy met in the 1980’s whilst studying at the Royal College of Art\, sharing a studio in London when they first set up their practices. They have a mutual passion for colour and pattern\, although they work in very different materials.\nThis exhibition celebrates their friendship and their joy of experimenting in a variety of media\, showing new work in mosaic\, enamel\, silverware\, acrylic laminate\, felt and stitch.

You may have scraps of favourite pieces of fabric that you want to incorporate in your vessel.
