Cindy – Lou Thompson

Artwork 1: German Shepherd Resting

Artwork 2: Lassie Dog

Another expression of Kaleidoscope is “complex pattern” (according to Word Hippo) and this dog has a very complex pattern to replicate in wool.  Only four colours of Merino wool were made to create this hand-blended coat, to make 12 colours of this complex coat pattern.

Colour and pattern are decided, then the wool is blended and not only blended, but graduated between colour markings. When attached, it is clipped to shaped and textured.

Materials and Techniques for both artworks

Wire, wool, glue, clay. Needle felted with long fur attachment.
