Business name: Felt&Finds
I passed a BA(Hons) in Design (Illustration) in 2001 and expected to carry on painting for the rest of my life. However I had friends who invited me along to textile and felt-making workshops and I gradually was taken over completely, especially by the endless possibilities of felt-making. I particularly love the textures and colours of natural fleeces, and especially the fact that our own UK farmers have difficulty selling their fleeces whilst we felt-makers buy from all over the world. I also collect rust, along with the usual finds from along the North Wales Coast: shells, shards of Victorian pottery, sea-washed glass, driftwood and any other 'treasures' that come along, to incorporate into the felt works. I am currently taking a City & Guilds course in Felt-making with Artybird, Carnforth which is opening up even more exciting avenues to follow.
