Business name: Handmade from Lottie and Lou
After a 17 year career in the steel industry I moved to rural North Yorkshire into an off-grid property on the edge of a wild moor which inspired me to explore my artistic side. When I was made redundant I found a local craft workshop business called ArtIsOn and after signing up for a felt making workshop with Sheila Smith I was completely hooked within minutes of having my hands on the wool. I then signed up for many more workshops by Sheila and other fabulous UK and International tutors, and lots of 'playing with fluff' as my husband and children call it. I am now part of a successful artists co-operative, know as Fleece in beautiful Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales and thoroughly enjoy teaching felt making workshops as well as making and selling my own work. I am lucky to have developed my hobby into a business and found a new group of friends through feltmaking.
