I discovered felting whilst exploring textiles in 2014 with a local group and fell in love with all aspects of it. My preference is wet felting and colour is my raison d’etre, whether inspired by the cosmos, or local scenes with vast expansive skies, and a wealth of flowers. I have taken no formal courses in any art form and have preferred to explore and improvise, playing with wool, yarns, silks and other fibres. I also love to incorporate pebbles and sea glass from my daily walks along the beach.
Machine and hand embroidery are also fun to play with for additional texture and colour along with beading.
Following a piece I was commissioned to make I have discovered the joy of working large scale yet also in great detail which draws in the eye. There’s always something new to see, in life and in my pictures.
