Feltworld

I felt away happily from a lovely studio based on a farm in rural Staffordshire - Penkridge just off the M6 junction 13 I particularly enjoy creating textures by incorporating silk, alpaca, angora and linens into woolly fibres. I particularly enjoy the nuno felting process and getting the ultimate surprise of seeing how the silk and wool has reacted together. My profile picture is of me making a rug in Konya Turkey with the master feltmaker Mehmet Giroc. I attended a 5 day/evenings course and it hangs pride of place on the living room wall. The process that we used to create the lighter area of the rug is called the Osoman technique, similar to nuno felting. I have also revisited my love of painting and print making. I am working on a new range of designs and will be workng from these over the next couple of months. It would be lovely to see you soon at one of my fun felting courses, residential or holidays- please enquire. Happy felting Barbara
