I have always been drawn to textiles, although it wasn’t until I took the Foundation in Art and Design Course that I realised felt could be so fascinating. I enjoy wet felting and the way that the wool itself exerts an influence on the finished piece during the felting process. I make images based on elements of the Lincolnshire landscape, and find inspiration in nature. I incorporate machine and hand embroidery into some of my pieces and also create small decorative pieces, such as hearts and stars. Currently, I am working on new pieces which incorporate sterling silver and genuine gemstones. I am also experimenting with needle felting.
