My textile practice has evolved through experimenting and combining traditional techniques and modern practices. Using a variety of materials to work with both hand and machines skills. Through researching a subject, my findings often define the choice of techniques and methods to use. I have exhibited widely since 1992, (2022 marks 30 years) both nationally and internationally in a variety of galleries and museum contexts.I have a formal training a B.A. (Hons) Art and Education, Post Graduate qualification in Art Therapy. Having extensive experience of residencies, project work in both school and community contexts, working with all ages and abilities. More recently completing a B.A.(Hons) Contemporary Textiles in Shetland, as a way of learning new skills and combining these with techniques I already had. This practical and research based degree course has allowed me to develop my arts practice especially with a Shetland influence. I finished my third year of the degree with a distinction. I offer my skills in the form of workshops, as well as talks about my experiences of studying and living in Shetland.
