Kate Davies 2020

I was thinking about the phrase ‘a kaleidoscope of colour’ and the way a kaleidoscope creates fractured images. A prism fractures light and creates shards of colour that seem to fly off in all directions. It’s like an explosion from which all colour is created. I’ve tried to capture this in the 3D piece I’ve created. The colours I’ve used relate to my memory of looking closely at the TV screen when I was a child and seeing that all the images were made up of neon pixels of colour.
