CONNECTIONS

International Feltmakers Association’s AGM 2025

Save the Date: Saturday 29 March, 2025

🎩 Theme: Connections

We are delighted to announce this year’s International Feltmakers Association AGM will be held via Zoom on 29 March 2025.

We hope you will be inspired by this theme – you can find connections in the way you interact with other Feltmakers, in the way you are inspired by nature, other mediums or other artists. You can also explore the literal: how can I connect one part of the felt to another? Allow yourself to explore the ideas and connect to something new!

Corinna Nitschmann
Corinna noticed that natural wool usually contains vegetable materials that get trapped in our felt. She will show how to experiment with very different types of plant parts: skeletons, bark, luffa etc. Corinna encourages you to connect with nature, intentionally adding natural vegetation to natural wool fibres.

Lena Archbold
Lena’s online, pre-recorded class teaches you the nuno felting technique to create beautiful wall art, combining fabrics, yarns, felt, and merino wool for texture and depth. You’ll explore unique materials and craft a special piece inspired by cherished childhood memories. Lena also encourages blending felting with other mediums like embroidery, stitching, crochet, or knitting for a personal touch.

Reena Curphey
In a live talk, with a slideshow, Reena will take you through her experience of reconnecting with regional ways of producing fibre. Following the steps from raising sheep, through the preparation of wool fibre and finally, to feltmaking, Reena will show the connection between traditional and contemporary textile art.

All videos and talks will be posted after March 29 2025 in Videos for IFA Members section.
