Artwork Title: Forest Garland

Materials and Techniques: 

Dyed Merino 23 micron used throughout, real acorn cups, fabric glue and green sewing thread.

Wet felted woven cordage, wet felt bead making (glued into acorn cups), wet and needle felted leaves and a lot of fiddly sewing.

This head dress is an alternative ‘hat’; a decorative piece for a woodland fairy or an autumnal bridesmaid. I was inspired to make the headgear with acorns and Ivy leaves as I intend to create a felted green man to cover a damaged tree trunk when I open my garden for our Church in June.
