Artwork 1 Title: Coral Fascinator

Materials and Techniques: 

Corriedale fibres have been laid out in such a way as to take advantage of directional shrinkage. The “stamen” were applied at prefelt stage and then it was wet felted as one piece.  Once dry it was hand stitched to the headband.

My coral inspired fascinator has been made for the forthcoming Waltham Textile Group exhibition which will have the theme “Making Waves”. I’ve included it in the Hats Off! exhibition as it’s been created entirely with fibre.
