Artwork 1 Title: Summer Hat 

Materials and Techniques: I felted around a resist with yellow Merino Wool fibers. Upon these I placed small circular resists before laying orange merino wool fibers and embellishments: comprising of yellow woolen Nepps and yellow Tussah Silk. After removing the resist, I sculpted my hat on a hat block. I cut out the raised felt circles where the small circular resists laid, and removed them. This gave form to the hat. 

The warm colours orange and yellow always remind me of summer. Someone once said, “wool keeps you cool”. I hope this hat will serve its purpose. I can’t wait to wear it to a summer party.
