Wet Felting at Kings Heath Tearooms

A friendly, supportive workshop designed for beginners or improves in the art of wet Feltmaking. Taking inspiration from the beautiful Kings Heath Park and Cartlands Tearooms you will be guided to create a composition based on a garden scene or a Spring landscape. You will learn (or revise!) the basics of how to handle and lay out wool ready for a beautiful picture made from the technique of wet felting.
You will also learn how to choose other fibres to complement your work and how to incorporate them into your artwork. There will be an opportunity to add detail using felting needles at the early stages as well as when your picture is finished.
The class is taught by Penny Dixon who has a Masters in Art, Health and Wellbeing and has taught Feltmaking and drawing and painting for over 14 years.
There is tea/ coffee on arrival and a light lunch is provided half way through the session. you might find it useful to bring a notebook, a picture to work from and a waterproof apron but not essential. All materials are provided.
