Traditional Feltmaking for Beginners with Karen Waters

10 August - 19 September

Online Course Now Open for Registration…

Traditional Feltmaking for Beginners teaches the ancient art of feltmaking, in an easy step-by-step format. It was created with first-time felters in mind, so no experience is necessary, though novices may benefit as well.

You’ll learn the fundamentals of wet felting with the use of minimal tools, plus I’ll share tips and tricks I wish I’d known when I was starting out. I’ll not only show you the how’s, but I’ll explain the why’s, so you’ll understand the reason behind the instruction. By the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge (and confidence) to create beautiful handmade felt on your own!

The main techniques being taught are:

-How to make high quality flat felt;
-How to make high quality seamless 3D felt using a resist;
-How to create tint and shade effects;
-How to make prefelt plus use it in your designs;
-How to fix corners and straighten edges;
-Tips and tricks and so much more.

Learn from anywhere! This is a learn-at-your-own-pace style workshop, so you can work whenever it’s right for you, with no worry of time-zone differences.

Three different learning style options are being offered for this online course, and Supply Kits are available. Visit the site for course curriculum and all the details!
