Seamless waistcoats with 3d structures or multiple collars
30 October - 1 November

After some years, sculptural waistcoats will be back to Montbrun-Bocage.
You will have the chance to learn about felting a seamless and well fitting garment, a waistcoat (or, if you are are an advanced and quick felter… you may even think of adding sleeves for a jacket).
We will have a close look at how fibre direction and combination of materials would influence consistency, shape and flexibility of a felt. This way you will be more aware of these aspects while planning your vest design. Felting a sample of the wool types of your choice you can calculate shrinkage and develop a pattern for your individual size.
All around this template you will lay out fibres in a seamless way. Once the body of your vest is there, you can add 3d structures or other fashionable details and give it your very personal touch.
You may think of multiple collars, layered surface structures, pockets etc.
Together we will discuss the different projects and technical details implied, collect ideas and solutions for tricky situations. This way we can all learn from each other and follow the process of different versions.
Welcome to create your very unique piece of wearable felt art!
