Molly Williams – Contemplative Figure Wet Felt Sculpture Workshop
27 October @ 12:00 am - 30 November @ 11:30 pm$295.00
I invite you to join me on this 5 – week online course where you will learn how to make a large contemplative sculpture using a wet felt method of sculpting.
The sculptures are inspired by the work of modern sculptors such as Barbara Hepworth and Sir Henry Moore and others. You will have the opportunity to explore the work of contemporary sculptors and, through a series of drawing exercises, develop your own unique figure. I will encourage you to be bold and adventurous!
The finished figure will measure about 16″/40cm – 20″/50cm in height, dependent on the shape and position.
This is an energetic process that involves working with heavy wire, manual shaping and felting, plus a sander and steamer.
PLEASE NOTE – this course is not for beginners – please feel free to email me for a chat if you have any questions.
The course is hosted on Ruzuku with a new lesson opening each week comprised of close-up videos (over 30) where you will watch me make a figure step-by-step, in-line text and images, plus there are downloadable pdf worksheets of each stage in the process for you to keep.
Each week you will be invited to a Zoom meeting where we meet to chat, and I can answer any questions and demonstrate where required. There is also a Discussion Forum to post images of your progress and any questions that arise during the course.
It’s a lot of fun – you will break felting rules, for example, throw out any notions of fine layers of fibre!
There is more information about the workshop on my website page and if you have any questions please contact me via email.
I hope you will join me.
