Title: Reaching Out

Materials and Techniques: merino wool, wire, handstitch Wet-Felting

Inspiration: This work refers to the idea of “connection as it is a spiral, a continuous circle which to me shows connection to all things.

Title: Hour Glasses

Materials and Techniques: Merino wool, wire, yarns, wet felting

Inspiration: I was inspired to create these three hour-glasses as a connection to places as the hour glasses were used on board ships in the 1800’s travelling from England to Australia and it was the ships navigator who turn the sand glass over after the sand had run through. A bell was rung announcing the amount of time that had passed which was the measure of the distance travelled.
