Three Hares

New Zealand Wool, merino wool wood, wire, glass eyes. Needle felt, wet felt.

Three hares running in an eternal circle appear in 6th century China, but also  medieval churches and manuscripts. It's not clear exactly what they represent.. Hares are associated with fertility. Perhaps they stand for the Trinity. I have chosen this piece because it features both flora and fauna.
