From Above

This piece just happened I was laying out a piece to cut up when I started to see what looked like a beach scape as seen from above.

Wet felting technique with merino wool, a variety of silk fabrics and yarns, some hand stitching to complete.

In Yorkshire

This was created to celebrate a family holiday in Swaledale Yorkshire with our adult children and young grandchildren. The name of the falls Wain Wath Force they were my inspiration.

Wet Felted with needle felting and stitching, created with wool and fibres bought in that area of Yorkshire a lot had been hand dyed with the local scenery inspiring the dyer.

The Moors

This was a work of imagination it was created as a demonstration piece while teaching a wet felting landscape workshop. I was demonstrating to my students how to add fabrics and yarns to a basic wool layout to create texture and interest and how to be bold in their use of colour. This piece just developed as I was teaching.

Wet Felted with mixed wools and fabrics.
