Birches Scarf

Inspired by the woods I played in as a child, growing up in Southern Maine. The birches were my favorite tree (although I’d rather climb the apple trees). My father would cut a short birch log in half and drill three holes on the curved bark side for tapered candles. They would decorate our table all winter.

Birch is a pioneer species with the symbol of rebirth, new beginnings and growth. It’s a sacred tree within the Celtic mythology and is thought to have protective influences. In my view, we could all use a bit more birch tree influence.
