Delphiniums, Poppies and a Ladybug

Merino wool, dyed locks, silk fibres, dyed cheesecloth, dyed silk, wool nepps, photo transfer on silk fused to felted base. 

Wet felting and needle felting.

A photo of delphiniums in my front garden provides the backdrop image for this piece. I love it when my poppies bloom along with the delphiniums.  My challenge was to integrate the background photo with the wet and needle felted middle and foregrounds. Imagine which insets crawl under this vegetation!
